I’m going to be honest here. The Asus Eee PC S101 is overpriced. I’ve tried to talk several people I know out of buying this $700 “netbook.” But there’s no denying that it’s one of the best looking netbooks available. It’s small, measuring just 1.1 inches thick. And it’s light, at just 2.4 pounds. But inside, it’s 100% netbook and I wouldn’t expect better performance from the S101 than from an MSI Wind for half the price.
That said, if you’re willing to pay a premium for a device that’s marginally thinner and lighter, you might be pleased to know that US retailers including Newegg and Amazon are now carrying the Eee PC S101. It’s available for $699.99 from Amazon in graphite and brown
versions. Both models have 16GBs of solid state storage.
