HP has a new 10 inch tablet in the works. Acer has a series of Android tablets with Intel Bay Trail processors. Dell seems to have a new 2-in-1 tablet/notebook convertible on the way. And maybe HP’s 6 inch VoiceTab phone/tablet is coming to America.
We don’t know any of these things because the companies told us about them — these are all details that emerged over the past few days from documents posted at regulatory agencies or benchmarking websites.
Here’s a roundup of tech news from around the web, with a special emphasis on the week in tablet leaks. It’s a special weekend edition of Lilbits!
- Unannounced HP Slate 10 Plus tablet and Dell P20t 2-in-1
Dell’s P20t appears to be some sort of convertible tablet with a screen that can rotate 360 degrees and “lay down on the back surface” to become a “pad computer” according to FCC documents. Meanwhile, a tablet called the HP Slate 10 Plus received WiFi certification recently, but few other details are available at this point. [MobileGeeks] - Another Acer Android tablet with Bay Trail CPU shows up in benchmarks
The Acer Iconia A2-810 seems to feature an 8 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, an Atom Z3745 quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. It joins other recently leaked models including the Acer A1-840 FHD and Acer A1-840.  [MobileGeeks] - HP Slate 6 VoiceTab hits the FCC
The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab is a 6 inch “voice tablet,” also known as a phone with a really big screen or a “phablet.” Originally slated for India, the device showed up recently at the FCC website, suggesting it could be coming to America. But the label drawings mention other regions including The Philippines, Pakistan, China, and Europe. [FCC] - Asus Qi wireless charger hits the FCC
Not every device that passed through the FCC recently was a tablet. Here’s a wireless charging station from Asus. [FCC] - Comixology updates its Android, iOS apps to avoid using Google, Apple in-app purchase schemes
Amazon recently acquired the biggest name in digital comics… and apparently the company doesn’t want to share 30 percent of comic book sales with Apple and Google. [The Verge] - Sony Xperia Z2 waterproof smartphone coming to US this summer
Sony’s latest flagship phone is coming to the United States… but the US isn’t really a priority for Sony at the moment. The device will most likely be sold only through the Sony website at launch, not through retail or wireless carrier outlets. [TechCrunch] - OnePlus might actually just be a subsidiary of Oppo
The OnePlus One is a highly anticipated (among phone geeks) smartphone with a $299 price tag and top tier specs. The company that makes it claims to be a Chinese startup founded by former Oppo executive Pete Lau. But there’s evidence that OnePlus has only one corporate investor: Oppo. The company might be a wholly owned subsidiary. [GizmoChina]
