After launching the powerful Chuwi RZBOX mini PC last year, Chinese PC maker Chuwi is back for round two. The new Chuwi RZBOX 2022 has the same compact design as its predecessor, but the computer’s processor has been upgraded from an AMD Ryzen 9 4900H chip to a newer, higher-performance Ryzen 7 5800H chip.

The new Chuwi RZBOX with Ryzen 5800H is now available from Chuwi or Banggood, with prices starting as low as $639 for a model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage during a launch promotion.

The little computer has a metal chassis that measures 7.4″ x 7″ x 2.4″ and has a volume of about 2 liters. Under the hood are two SODIMM slots for up to 64GB of DDR4-3200 memory and two M.2 2280 slots for PCIe 3.0 NVMe storage.

The actively cooled computer features a small fan and thin copper heat pipes. And the Chuwi RZBOX 2022 is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800H 45-watt, 8-core, 16-thread processor with Radeon Vega 8 graphics, and the computer has an AMD RZ608 wireless module with support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

With HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, and VGA ports, the computer supports up to three displays. Other ports include dual Ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 ports, three USB 2.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, and mic and headset jacks plus a DC power input.

Chuwi says the system supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 as well as Ubuntu and other GNU/Linux distributions.

The company also plans to offer lower-priced models with Ryzen 5 4600H or Ryzen 5 5600H processors in the future.

  1. I’d be interested in this, IF it had a second usb-C port. I don’t get why so many devices which are not “low end” still only provide one, it’s been long enough that actually needing two is realistic (and basically every usb-c hub just gives you usb-A ports and maybe a C charge port.)

  2. The 5900H is also a Ryzen 9. AMD seems to know nothing about it, but does show a Ryzen 9 5900HX; is the only difference that the HX has an unlocked multiplier?
