The Rikomagic MK80 is a box designed to let you run Android apps on a TV. It’s powered by an 8-core processor, runs Android 4.4 software, and it’s one of the most powerful devices of its type that I’ve tested.

It’s also one of the most expensive, priced at $150 and up.

But you might be able to get one for free! Since I’m finished testing the demo unit Rikomagic sent me to review, it’s time for a giveaway.

mk80

The model we’re giving away features an Allwinner A80 Octa processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and Gigabit Ethernet.

There’s also a SATA connector for hooking up an external hard drive as well as two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, and an SD card slot. The MK80 also comes with a wireless remote control.

It’s worth noting that this type of device runs a version of Android that hasn’t been fully optimized for televisions: some apps might not work well on a TV screen or they might be tough to interact with using a remote control, gamepad, or even a keyboard and mouse. If you want a simple, user-friendly device you might be better off with a Nexus Player, Chromecast, Roku, or Amazon Fire TV.

But, did I mention we’re giving away an MK80 for free? It’s hard to beat that price.

So here’s how to enter.

That’s pretty much it. But here are a few rules:

  • This contest is open to anyone with a valid shipping address in the continental United States
  • A single winner will be randomly selected.
  • Once the winner has been contacted, that person has 48 hours to respond. We’ll select a new winner if we don’t hear back within that time.
  • Make sure to use a valid email address, Facebook, Google+ or Twitter account when you login to leave your comment so that we have a way to contact winners.
  • Please leave just one comment.
  • If you’ve won another Liliputing contest in the past 60 days, you’re not eligible to win this one.
  • Neither are any writers for Liliputing or close friends or family members.

Thanks again to Rikomagic for providing us with the MK80 review unit.

Update: This contest has now ended. Congratulations to our winner, Britton Stockwell!

  1. This is SO cool! We have Comcast internet at about $50/mo. and if we got TV it’d be another $40-$50 and it doesn’t even include our favorite channels (Food Network, HGTV, etc). It’s OBSCENE! This is a great opportunity and thank you so much!

  2. This sounds awesome and would go great with my TV. Thanks for the giveaway. I hope I win since I’ve been saving up for something like this. My email is: [email protected]

  3. Been wanting a box like this. should be better then the slow android tv sticks.

  4. As always, it’s worth a shot. Thank you for being so generous with your demo units!

  5. I would love to get my hands on that device. With the proper apks, I could turn it into a updated OUYA.

  6. This site has become one of my daily visits, i haven’t found another that provides as great a resource for mini pc’s as this one. GREAT WORK!!

  7. I would like to start off the year with a new toy. I would like to have one please.

  8. I like to see reviews of non-US Android devices that can be acquired online. This is what makes Liliputing unique. (I’d like to see more tablet reviews tho!)

  9. Sure would love to win this. Love to win anything for that matter…

  10. Brad, just send it to me and save yourself the trouble of having this contest.

  11. I would love to try an Allwinner processor for a mini pc. I haven’t tried one since the aging A10.

  12. I’m sure our friendly neighborhood Liliputing Homer will like this one:

“I have 8 unstable systems and no parallel cores. Why can’t I have no unstable systems and 8 parallel cores?”

  13. After experiencing simlar boxes, I would pay the extra just for the processor on this one.

  14. “If you’ve won another Liliputing contest in the past 60 days, you’re not eligible to win this one.”

  15. hmm.. my probability of winning should be increasing after visiting Liliputing practically every day for a few years now !

  16. I hate my ‘almost silent’ HTPC and unstable but silent Neo player so this would make my day.

  17. With great power comes great responsibility. In this case, that responsibility sounds like it would be managing all the non-gaming entertainment needs for an entire house, especially with that gigabit Ethernet port.

  18. Hoping to try one of these nifty boxes. Seems a better option than the sticks.

  19. I love that I could plug in and store/watch my entire collection, thats awesome! Nice user friendly browser, pretty fast. Does it have a gamepad option? Love it, Thank you for the oppportunity. [email protected]

  20. I’d have a better change of meeting Elvis, Michael Jackson, and JFK together, in a Radio Shack tomorrow than to win this box

  21. I wonder what are the odds… If noone enters anymore, it looks like 1 in 60.

  22. Yes please. Don’t really have a gadget budget with paying off college loans.

  23. Pretty awesome giveaway! Glad to see something that actually has ports 😛

  24. how are Rikomagic and others in terms of official support? my CX-919 never got an official (only beta) kitkat…

  25. Seems pretty cool. Wouldn’t kick it out of bed for being sub-optimized for TV’s.
