The Panasonic Let’s Note RZ4 may be the lightest-weight notebook with an Intel Core M processor.
First introduced in Japan in October, the Let’s Note RZ4 has a 10.1 inch full HD display, an Intel Broadwell processor and up to 14 hours of battery life. It also weighs just 1.64 pounds.
At launch this little computer was only available in Japan. But now Dynamism is importing the laptop to the United States, where you can order one for $1749 and up… with an emphasis on up.
An entry-level model features an Intel Core M-5Y10 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 128GB solid state drive, Windows 8.1 software, and a 1-year warranty.
The second-cheapest model costs $3599 (more than twice as much), and has a faster Core M-5Y70 CPU, 8GB of RAm, a 512GB SSD, and a 3-year warranty with accidental damage protection.
Each model has a 1920 x 1200 pixel IPS touchscreen display that you can push back to use the computer as a tablet. It also has 3 USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet jack, 802.11ac WiFI, HDMI output, and a 4860mAh battery.
The laptop measures 9.8″ x 7.1″ x 0.8″.

Might as well wait out to see if Core M MBA 11 2015 can beat this….and how high will the Apple tax be. Or the smaller Thinkpad Yoga.
Anyone have any links of non-promotional photos and videos of these things (ie. from reviews)? Even the professional photos on Dynamism’s site makes them look cheap. Especially the silver one which is made worse with the white keyboard.
Also, how rugged are these? As rugged as the original IBM ThinkPads or as flimsy as the current Lenovo ThinkPads?
As far as I can tell the high end RZ4 is a little over 300,000 yen in Japan. That comes out to around $2500 USD.
This one you mean? Tops out at 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD right?

I think I was looking at this one that goes up to 512GB SSD: https://ec-club.panasonic.jp/mall/mylets/com/custmize_choice.do?beams-action=query.custmize&SHP_ID=A0002&HB=CF-RZ4A5SB
ahh 😮 Nice! 5Y70 too. Estd RRP though ;/
I wonder how much profit Dynamism is getting when you add the costs of importing these to the US. I’d buy the premium version for $2,500 USD but not for $3,700 USD.
0.74kg for everyone not using freedom units. Surface pro 3 is 0.8kg or 1.76 freedom units.
Panasonic thinks their shit don’t stink…
I’d love to get a 5Y10 model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD. Too bad the likely price would be too high for me.
I wonder how much these would be if Panasonic officially sells them in the instead of being imported.
Good to hear Dynamism is still around.
This is gloriously out of my price range but I love the colors.
Me too, a little steampunkish, a lot technical. Instant surprise and delight.
