ocz-ssdOCZ has announced a series of PCI Express solid state disks designed for netbooks. The SSDs come in 16GB and 32GB versions, and are available with PATA or SATA interfaces. The SATA version clocks in with a 110MB/s read speed and a 51MB/s write speed, while the PATA version is noticeably slower with a 45MB/s read speed and 35MB/s write speed.

I suspect these SSDs would go quite nicely with the OCZ Neutrino DIY netbook, but you could probably use them with any netbook that has a spare PCIe slot.

No word on pricing or availability yet.

  1. Tip: netbooks that have an expresscard slot most likely do *not* have a pci-e slot.
