Chinese smartphone startup OnePlus doesn’t plan to officially show us what their first phone looks like until April 23rd. But that’s about the only thing we don’t know at this point.
The company had already made it clear that the OnePlus One would have a 5.5 inch full HD display, a 13MP camera, Cyanogen software, a 3100mAh battery, and swappable back covers. Now we also know that it’ll have a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU and 3GB of RAM.
It’s expected to launch in at least 10 markets and sell for around $400 or less, which could make the OnePlus One a rather attractive alternative to a Google Nexus 5… for some spec geeks, at least.
Here’s a roundup of tech news from around the web.
- OnePlus Onesmartphone to sport 2.5 Ghz Snapdragon 801 + 3GB of RAM

[MIT Technology Review] - Pipo X1 is a $40 Android TV stick with RK3188 quad-core CPU
At first glance, it’s yet-another Android TV stick with a Rockchip processor. But Pipo is a fairly well known tablet maker with a number of cheap tablets under its belt… which might help explain why the company’s TV stick is just a little more expensive than a Chromecast, but manages to pack 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a quad-core CPU, and Android 4.2 software. [CNX Software] - Asus Zenbook NX500 15.6 inch, 4K ultrabook shows up at Milan Design Week in Italy

[SamMobile] - NVIDIA Shield software update brings remote GameStream, Notebook streaming, and Android 4.4
The update brings the latest version of Android to NVIDIA’s handheld game system, but that might actually be the least noteworthy thing about hte April Update. It also now lets you play PC games just about anywhere (as long as you have a good internet connection) by streaming games from your home PC over the internet. [NVIDIA] - Xtreamer SideWinder4 Android TV box hits the FCC
