MobileTechReview is reporting that the Asus Eee PC 900 is now available for preorder in the US. But to be honest, I checked most of the sites on the list, and the only one I could find that even had a product page was ZipZoomfly. And there’s no option to order the Eee PC 900, just to be notified when it’s available.
Still, it looks like the Eee PC 900 should be available in the US in less than two weeks, and as I expected, J&R in New York is listed as one of the handful of bricks and mortar stores that should have units in stock early on. So while I’m not sure that I’ll pick one up for myself (I’m still pretty happy with my Mini-Note and Eee PC 701), I’ll probably be making a field trip to J&R on May 12th to get a firsthand look at the new touchpad and screen.
I am going to hold off for Galaxy Black model to ship state side or the Atom based PC to arrive, which ever happens first.
Let’s say you had skipped the initial EeePC. With the Mini, would you feel any need for the e900? With the 900 at the same price as the better storage and KB Mini, I can’t see any reason to buy it.
Honestly, I almost feel like the Mini-Note’s 1280 x 768 pixel display might be too sharp for a 9inch screen. 1024 x 600 might be about right.
The display IS 1024. You apparently don’t know anything about this product. Read up on it before posting next time.
Right, there was a typo in my comment. I meant to say the *mini-note’s* 1280 x 768 display is too sharp. I corrected the comment.
