Update: You can find a list of other Windows 7 netbooks and notebooks here.

Asus has officially announced its Windows 7 lineup, and that includes an updated version of practically every Eee Family product launched during the second half of 2009 as well as the company’s new thin and light UL-series notebooks.

The Asus UL50A/UL50Ag/UL50Vg/UL50Vt/UL80V models and other larger laptops have also been updated.

In related news, Asus has posted the user manual for the Eee PC 1201 online, and as netbooked points out, it mentions a third, previously announced model called the Eee PC 1201T. The Eee PC 1201T doesn’t have an HDMI port, which would seem to indicate that it might not have ION graphics. There’s no word on what else might set it apart from the 1201HA and 1201N.

  1. Given their naming conventions wouldn’t the T in Eee PC 1201T mean it’s a Touch screen model?

  2. Why netbooks this good only have 0.3Mpix webcamera,, I just cant understand that.. HDMI connectors etc.. I been looking for netbook ,but then there is thing like that..

  3. I think it might be too much os for such small computers. Personally they should make a newer version of Win95 and call it WinNB.

There is an os that is being developed that I think would be ideal for netbooks. It is ReactOS. https://www.reactos.org It is small and free. The latest version does not support USB but I am hoping it will so I can install it from an USB drive or USB cd/dvd drive.

    1. fool. i have win 7 ulti running on my netbook. ik works perfectly well.

      1. I did not say that it didn’t. Win7 requires a lot resources to run. For netbooks with resources that are less than what Win7 requires, I think ReactOS would be an ideal os. It is just my opinion.

Win7 is not a one-os-fits-all os. I think there is room for other os’s. One that I like is eComStation. It is an updated version of OS/2.

There is still a version of DOS called FreeDOS. I have it on a netbook; an Asus EEE 701a.

  4. Any idea of possible upgrade options of a 1005HA bought a few days ago to Windows 7 at a discount price?

    1. None that I’m aware of. Most Windows XP netbooks don’t qualify for Windows 7
      free upgrades.
You can purchase a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium and pay for the upgrade
price instead of the full price though.

  5. given the minimum specs that microsoft lists, that T91MT may have a problem fitting anything other then windows itself…
