Barnes & Noble may be scaling back its hardware efforts, but the company does still want to sell eBooks and other digital content. While you can access the NOOK eBook library by installing the NOOK app on almost any phone or tablet, one of the best ways to get you to buy media is still by convincing you to buy devices with the NOOK store preloaded.
Long story short, whether B&N builds its own hardware or note, the company has said it plans to continue selling tablets. And new NOOK eReaders have never been in doubt.
Now it looks like we could see new tablets and eReaders as soon as October.
