Chinese company LeEco hasn’t been shy about its ambitions to bring its product ecosystem to the United States, and today the company unveiled its first products for the US market, including smart TVs, a smart bicycle, an upcoming self-driving car, a virtual reality headset, and a video streaming service.
But some of the company’s most accessible products might be its phones. For example, the LeEco Le Pro3 is a $399 smartphone with a 5.5 inch, 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.
It’ll be available starting November 2nd, and LeEco is currently offering a $100 rebate that brings the price down to $299 if you manage to claim the rebate during the November 2nd flash sale.
The Le Pro3 launching in the United States is pretty much the same as the model that the company unveiled in China in September.
It features a 16MP rear camera with phase-detection autofocus and 4K video recording support, an 8MP front camera, a massive 4,070 mAh battery, and support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. There’s also a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, NFC support, and 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2.
The phone has a USB Type-C port, an IR sensor, and an aluminum unibody design that comes in gray or gold color options.
One feature that the phone doesn’t have? A 3.5mm headphone jack. It does come with a USB C-to-3.5mm adapter though.
While the hardware looks pretty good for the price, LeEco is really hoping to get US customers to adopt its entire ecosystem. Among other things, the phone comes with a 3-month subscription to the company’s EcoPass service which includes 5TB of cloud storage, a 2-year warranty, and movie streaming from Fandor.
The company is also launching a $249 smartphone with slightly less impressive specs. It’s called the Le S3.
LeEco’s first phones for the US market run Android 6.0 with the company’s “ecosystem user interface,” or “eui.”
