viliv s10

Korean company Viliv is showing off a new inch convertible tablet-style netbook called the S10. It has a high resolution 10 inch 1366 x 768 touchscreen display that can be folded down over the keyboard for use in tablet mode, and ship with Windows 7 Home Premium.

The laptop will come with a choice of a 1.33GHz or 2.0GHz Intel Atom processor. While there aren’t a lot of details, I’m guessing the 1.33GHz version is an Atom Z520 CPU while the 2GHz version would be the new Atzom Z550 processor.

The Viliv S10 will come with either a 32GB or 64GB SSD and 1GB of RAM. An optional 3G module will be available.Viliv says the computer will be able to run for up to 10 hours on a charge. PC makers tend to exaggerate battery life, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the S10 was able to run for 8 hours or longer.

The final pricing hasn’t been set, but Laptop Magazine reports that the S10 will probably start at $500 and go up from there depending on the configuration. While that’s kind of pricey for a netbook, the only other model that comes even close to matching these features is the Gigabyte TouchNote T1028X which sells for close to $700.

You can find a hands-on video from the Intel Developer’s Forum at Laptop Magazine.
