Need to catch up on Star Trek: Lower Decks, Discovery, or Picard? Amazon Prime Channels is offering a 1-month subscription to Paramount+ for $1, which is just 10% of the usual price for an ad-free subscription.

Meanwhile if you need something to watch it on, a bunch of Lenovo tablets are on sale this week – including the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 2-in-1 tablet with a 10 inch display and detachable keyboard. Best Buy is selling it for $199, which is one of the lowest prices I’ve seen to date.

Here are some of the day’s best deals.

  1. I got the Lenovo chromebook duet for my 1st grader last year at a discount and it works really well. I also got a USI pen because I got tired of printing assignments (he was home schooled last year). It was a great set up. Keyboard is good for small hands. I think the CPU is kinda old now. Plus 4gb for chromebooks is now not enough. If you have android apps, or Linux (the same kid now in 2nd grade is learning python and navigating the linux cl) or any webpage that is media heavy, things do start to slow down.

My kid watches netflix, pbs kids and does scratch programming using the browser and mostly, it’s still adequate. It looks very nice with the included cover.

  2. I wish that Lenovo Duet was discounted like that here in Canada. They’re $400 still here.

I was opposed to buying one when they came out, due to some lacking features (video output). But for $199, I would buy one for sure.

  3. I have owned the Lenovo Tab M8 FHD P22T/3GB/32GB model for almost a year (bought it pre-Black Friday last year)… and it is doing great.

    Here is the bad:
Digitizer is a bit inaccurate at the very top of the display
Unable to play FHD Netflix (Amazon appears to be fine)
Display brightness adjustment to low levels is not very good (it does adjust to very bright settings for outside usage).

    Here’s the good.
    It has excellent battery life
    It has a flashlight
    Display looks great (1080p)
Good wifi and bluetooth (no problems there)
Good durability (I don’t use a case, and did drop it once)
    Camera works fine.

    1. Thanks for the feedback! My sense is that while Lenovo stinks at providing OS updates (that’s the reason I included the Android version that these ship with), they offer good-enough hardware at a lower price than competitors like Samsung, which makes these rather attractive alternatives to the Amazon Fire tablet line for folks that don’t want to fiddle with installing the Play Store on their own.
