Zotac has introduced a new small form factor PC called the Zotac ZBOX HD-AD01. Other nettops from Zotac have been powered by Intel Atom processors, often paired with NVIDIA ION graphics. But the HD-AD01 bucks the trend with an AMD Athlon Neo X2 L325 1.5GHz dual core processor and ATI Radeon 3200 graphics.

The nettop has a 2.5″ hard drive port and supports DDR2 800MHz memory. Zotac’s nettops tend to ship as barebones units, which in this case means you get the motherboard and processor, but no hard drive, storage, or operating system.

The nettop does have 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Ethernet, DVI, and HDMI as well as an eSATA port, SPDIF, mic and headphone jacks, and a flash card reader.

Netbooked reports that the Zotac ZBOX HD-AD01 is already available for purchase in Japan, where it’s selling for the equivalent of about $280 US.

  1. So, which of the various ZBOX models is the most powerful? I’m guessing it would be the AMD or the Intel SU4100 model, but I’m not really familiar with those processors.

    1. There’s an intel su4100 model???? I think they’re either atom 330 or D510 — this new model supports athlon neo x2 — which would make it about 2x as fast as the ones running atom — and about the same as a fully loaded DELL zino in a package 1/2 the size.
