Hot on the heels of news that at least two US retailers will be carrying the soon-to-be released Samsung NC10 netbook, it looks like a Samsung rep is making official: Samsung is bringing its computer line to the US market.Â
Samsung has been selling computers in Asia for years, but is better known for consumer electronics in the US. Now the company plans to start selling laptops with prices ranging from about $499 to $1499 in America.
The Samsung NC10 netbook is the cheapest in the Samsung lineup, with a suggested retail price of $499. But several retailers are showing a price of $480 or less on pre-order pages. Buy.com is charging just $474.99 and has product listings for “metallic blue” and “metallic white” models.
You can read more about the Samsung NC10 in the Liliputing Product Database.
thanks gweilo8888!
thanks neoterix
buy.com just raised the price to 499, guess should’ve pulled the trigger…
amazon is also taking preorders.
The manual was recently released here: https://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?CDSite=HQ&CttFileID=2036691&CDCttType=SW&ModelType=N&ModelName=NP-NC10&VPath=SW/200810/20081013133820593/User_Manual_1.2.0.0.zip
It’s a pretty big file, since it’s an interactive manual and has multiple languages. To answer your question, the manual seems to indicate that there is only 1 memory slot, so you have to ditch it and replace it with a 2GB.
anyone know the max memory for this? buy.com shows max at 1G, but an old post shows you can swap out the ram?
