The Xiaomi Mipad is an iPad mini-sized tablet with an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, a 2048 x 1536 pixel display, and Xiaomi’s custom version of Google Android, called MIUI.

First unveiled in May, the Mipad will go on sale in China starting July 1st.

The tablet is one of the first devices to ship with NVIDA’s quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 processor featuring 192-core graphics. Other features include 2GB of RAM,16GB of storage, 802.11ac WiFi, an 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0, stereo speakers, and a 6700mAh battery.

Xiaomi has a reputation for offering high quality hardware at low prices, and the company’s new tablet is no different — it will sell for ¥1,499, or about $240 US.

While it’s not clear if or when Xiaomi will offer the Mipad outside of China, the company has been starting to move into international markets… and could start offering smartphones in the United States in 2015. Maybe we’ll see a Xiaomi tablet here by then as well.

  1. I don’t think its coming to USA,maybe next year, because nvidia exposure another tablet to come with K1

    1. It doesn’t have to come to the US, you can buy pretty much anything from China, it would just have a small price premium over the official 240$ price tag. It should show up even on Amazon soon enough at 280-300$ ,other sources might be a bit cheaper.

  2. If you are a spec junkie it looks great until you realize it isn’t real android and won’t ever be unless you get hella lucky and a community springs up around it.

    1. ……..
You are talking about Xiaomi product. I guarantee you will see rom for this within a month if not week.

    2. Being a Xiaomi user myself, I assure you there is nothing not real about the MIUI Andoid rom on their devices. I have never had a rom specific problem in the last two years of owning a Xiaomi Mi-2. Yes it won’t be Google certified, but on my phone, first time you open up the Xiaomi store it asks you if you want to download Google play. Everything just works.

      1. Xiaomi products are indeed google certified comes with play store outside the great wall.
I own redmi phone which i bought in singapore.
