The XBMC team has released an updated version of the popular cross-platform media center application. While it brings bug fixes and improvements to Windows, Mac, and Linux, XBMC 12.1 also includes a number of improvements for mobile and low power devices such as the Raspberry Pi, Apple TV, and Android and iOS devices.
Among other changes, XBMC 12.1 includes the following updates:
- Volume buttons on Android now control the Android volume, not just XBMC volume.
- XBMC for the Apple TV 2 now supports iOS 6.
- iPhone 5 users can now use the full screen resolution of their phoens in XBMC.
- More efficient playback and better subtitle support on the Raspberry Pi.
XBMC 12.1 also offers improved audio in Linux, support for Xbox 360-style controllers, and Apple AirPlay fixes.

I installed XBMC the other day. Apart from the fact it downloads an icon and metadata for the movies, I wasn´t overly impressed.
I am sticking with Gmote and Unified Remote for my HTPC.
