The latest activity tracker from Withings is a small clip-on device with an always-on E Ink display. You can attach the Withings Go to your belt or clothing and it will monitor your steps, distance, Sleep tracking, and other activities throughout the day.

Since the 1.1 inch circular E Ink display is always on, you can see your stats at a glance without stopping to press a button. And the low-power device should get up to 8 months of battery life without charging, since it uses a CR2032 watch battery instead of a rechargeable battery.

The Withings Go will sell for $70 when it launches during the first quarter of 2016.

Withings already offers several fitness-tracking devices including the Withings Pulse O2 and the Activité line of watches with motion-tracking sensors.

The $70 Withings Go is the cheapest to date. It may not have blood oxygen tracking capabilities like the more expensive Pulse O2, but not only is the new model cheaper, it’s also waterproof, allowing you to use it while swimming.

I’ve been using a Withings Pulse fitness tracker for the past two years, and I like that it’s small, offers more than a week of battery life, and encourages me to exercise. But the OLED screen is practically impossible to view in direct sunlight.

Since the Withings Go has an E Ink display, it should be easy to read in sunlight or even underwater, allowing you to see how close you are to meeting your daily fitness goals. On the other hand, it might be harder to read at night.

The Withings Go can also display an analog watch face on its E Ink screen, allowing you to use the fitness tracker like a pocket watch or wrist watch (with an optional strap).
