The latest preview of Windows 10 for members of the Windows Insider Preview program includes a bunch of new features aimed at gaming.

Among other things, it includes support for streaming gameplay live over the internet using Beam (a Twitch competitor acquired by Microsoft), and a new Game Mode which optimizes your settings for gaming performance.

Game Mode supports Win32 and Universal Windows Platform apps and it’s designed to boost CPU and graphics performance to enable the highest possible stable frame rate when playing games.

It’s not a universal setting though. Instead, you have to toggle Game Mode for each game you want to play.

Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15109 also includes some non-gaming enhancements, including support for reading text aloud in the Microsoft Edge web browser. Since Edge is also the default eBook reader for Windows 10, this means you can also have a Windows PC read digital books aloud to you by tapping the “read aloud” button in the top-right corner of the browser when viewing a book.

There’s also now support for full-color emoji in Microsoft Edge, the Blue light feature has been renamed as “night light” and you can resize virtual machines in Hyper-V by dragging the corner of the window.

You can find a more detail list of what’s new in the latest preview… as well as known issues, at the Windows Experience blog.
