We’ve been hearing rumors about a BlackBerry tablet for a few months now, without any actual confirmation from Research in Motion that the project is real. The latest rumor suggests that the tablet will have a touchscreen display and an on-screen virtual keyboard similar to the ones found on the Blackberry Storm, iPhone, and Android phones. But the Wall Street Journal says it will also have a slide-out physical keyboard.

The Wall Street Journal suggests that the tablet won’t have its own 3G modem. Instead you’ll be able to pair it with a BlackBerry phone for internet access on the go, something we’d already heard could be a possibility.

There’s still no word on a price or release date. If the previous rumors are anything to go by, the BlackBerry Tablet could have an 8.9 inch display and Wifi and Bluetooth capabilities.
