If you’ve been holding your breath waiting to pick up a WiFi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab, it looks like you’d better exhale: It doesn’t look like that model will be ready to go very soon.
Blogger and media expert Jeff Jarvis snapped a photo at Best Buy showing a rather wordy correction that boils down to this: Yeah, we know we said you’d be able to buy a WiFi-only Galaxy Tab from us, but Samsung hasn’t actually delivered any yet, so we can’t exactly sell them to you yet, OK?
Best Buy is currently offering versions of the 7 inch Android tablet tied to Sprint and Verizon’s mobile networks. But the 3G capable versions run $599.99 thanks to the extra hardware. Some carriers do offer subsidized pricing though.
The WiFi-only model is expected to sell for $499.99 while offering most of the same features as the 3G models.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab features a 7 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 1.3MP front facing camera and a 3MP rear camera, a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor and Google ANdroid 2.2.
