Lenovo ThinkPad products are known for their premium specs and no-nonsense case design. But a Chinese company is apparently adding a bit of nonsense by releasing a knockoff that looks like the Lenovo ThinkPad X200, complete with ThinkPad branding. But the processing power has been seriously dialed back with the inclusion of a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and integrated GMA 3150 graphics. The real X200 shipped with a Core 2 Duo CPU.
Rounding out the knockoff’s specs are a 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, and an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. It has a 4400mAh battery, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, and an SD card slot.
On the bright side, the Lenovo X200 ran $1200 or more when it was released in 2008, while Shanzhai.com reports the Chinese knockoff can be yours (if you can find one) for under $300.
