Vizio’s first Android tablet is now available for $379.99. While Amazon, Walmart, and other retailers are still taking pre-orders on their websites, the Vizio website says the tablet is now in stock, which means you can place an order directly from Vizo. The tablet is expected to arrive in bricks and mortar retail stores next week.

The tablet has been up for pre-order since July 1st.

The Vizio VTAB1008 tablet features an 8 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel display and Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It has a custom user interface so that the default screen shows a list of apps instead of a customizable home screen. But you can pull up a secondary window to display home screen widgets for weather forecasts and other data.

Vizio’s tablet is also designed to be used with televisions from the same company. If you have a supported TV set you’ll be able to use the tablet as a remote control for the TV, start watching a video on one device and then continue on the other, or even send apps from the tablet to your big screen TV.
