The ViewSonic ViewPad 7 is a 7 inch tablet running Google Android 2.2. It has an 800 x 480 pixel capacitive touchscreen display, 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity, a G-sensor, ambient light sensor, 512MB of Flash memory, A-GPS, and a 3MP camera. It’s not quite the Samsung Galaxy Tab, but it’s really not that far behind in the spec department. And it looks like the ViewPad 7 is going to be a lot cheaper than Samsung’s tablet… at least in the UK.
Carrypad spotted a pre-order page at Misco for the ViewPad 7, showing a price of ÂŁ399.99, or about $635 US. That may sound kind of steep, but the Samsung Galaxy Tab is going for ÂŁ529, or about $839 in the UK.
The ViewPad 7 is expected to start shipping in the UK on November 15th. I haven’t seen any pricing or launch date info for the US yet.
Isn’t this the same as the ViewSonic G Tablet? And won’t this also lack access to the Android Market?
