The ViewSonic ViewPad 10Pro is a 10 inch tablet with a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor, 32GB of storage, and a 3500mAh battery. The company has been showing off the tablet for a little while, but now it looks like it could launch in the US soon. A listing for the ViewPad 10pro showed up at the FCC web site this week, complete with photos, test results, and a user manual.

The documents describe a tablet with an ambient light sensor, front and rear-facing cameras, and a wide range of ports including a headset jack, USB port, SIM card slot, microSD card slot, and a built-in microphone and speaker. There’s also a docking port on the bottom.

There are status lights on the site to show battery, charging, and power states. ViewSonic’s tablet also has a couple of buttons on one side that allow you to show the desktop, open Internet Explorer, go back to the previous window, or open the control center. At least that’s what they do when you’re running Windows. Interestingly, the user manual also tells you what the buttons do in DOS, where one buttons works as an Enter key and two others move the cursor up or down.

While we’d been hearing that the ViewPad 10pro would be able to run Android apps using Bluestacks software, there’s no mention of this feature in the user manual. It may only be available on some models.

There’s still no information on the final pricing or the official US release date, but now that the tablet is listed with the FCC it’s one step closer to launching in the States.

thanks Dave!

One reply on “ViewSonic ViewPad 10pro Windows tablet hits the FCC”

  1. Whenever I see Windows tablets I worry about the price, battery and the size.  They are always too large, run out of battery power too fast and are too expensive.  Hope this one does better.
