Verizon has announced it will offer the first 4G-capable version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Android tablet. The new model will feature 4G LTE connectivity for Verizon’s network, and will also get a spec bump to Samsung’s new 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor. The rear camera has also been upgraded from 3 megapixels to 5, although the front-facing camera is still a 1.3MP model.
The rest of the specs remain the same, including the 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, Android 2.2 operating system, and support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1.
Verizon hasn’t announced the pricing or release date.

Consumer Reports alway has a skewed view on computers, but they did do an ‘iPad vs. Galaxy’ report where they reviewed eight tablets in the Feb 2011 issue. Seems like dumb time to go with that story — after Christmas, but before CES — but they at least have put their stamp on it for better or worse.
