Now that you can fit all the guts of a computer into a device small enough to slide into your pocket, it’s not surprising that we’ve seen PC makers experiment with different sizes and shapes in recent years.

Some companies have even stuffed computers inside the casing of a keyboard. But the Vensmile K8 keyboard PC is one of the oddest I’ve seen to date. It’s a tiny desktop computer with a touchpad on top… and a flexible, folding keyboard attached to the side.

Geekbuying is taking pre-orders for this mini PC for $200. It should begin shipping later this month.

Honestly, the keyboard is probably one of the computer’s least impressive elements. It seems to be one of those cheap foldable silicone keyboards that you can often buy for around $20 or less.

But it’s strange to see a computer that’s permanently attached to one of those keyboards.

As for the PC hardware, the K8 keyboard PC features an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 Cherry Trail processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage.

It supports 802.11b/g/n dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 and features HDMI and VGA outputs, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, a headset jack, and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of removable storage.

In addition to the 87 key keyboard, there’s a touchpad on top of the computer that supports multi-touch input and Windows 10 gestures.

The whole thing measures about 15.2″ x 4.7″ x 0.6″ when unfolded.

  2. strip away the keyboard and you have something very similar to the kangaroo mini pc. at $150 it might be worth buying.

  3. well, it’s nothing i’d consider buying

but it’s an interesting concept at least. You can never have enough of those…

  4. Having a nice big touchpad is nice. The rest of this design…not so much.
