I’ve got a Logitech webcam that sits on top of my monitor waiting for me to plug it in when I’m making a video call. It’s held in place by a small clip that grabs the edge of my display. And when I saw a picture of the new TVPRO HD6 computer, my first thought was that it looks a bit like my webcam… and there’s a good reason for that.

The TVPRO HD6 has the guts of a Windows 10 computer, but they’re stuffed into a compact case that’s designed to clip to the top of your monitor. And there’s a camera on the front, because this little system is designed for video conferencing.

Instead of plugging a webcam into your computer, you can just put the whole computer on top of your TV or monitor.

Just don’t expect a super-powerful computer. Under the hood, the TVPRO HD6 has the same basic hardware as a first-gen Intel Compute Stick: an Intel Atom Z3735F Bay Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. It has two USB 2.0 ports and supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.

But this little PC has a few things that Intel’s model lacked. In addition to a 1080p camera, the computer features two HDMI outputs, stereo speakers, dual microphones, and 3.5mm mic and speaker/headphone jacks.

The whole thing measures about 7.9″ x 1.9″ x 1.4″ which makes it bigger than a typical webcam (or PC-on-a-stick), but still pretty small for a desktop computer.

The TVPRO HD6 is available from AliExpress for $146. It ships from China and comes with an air mouse with a QWERTY keyboard.

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen a Chinese company stuff a computer-like device into a box that sits atop your TV. A few years ago we started to see some similar Android devices with ARM-based processors.

  1. Wonder what will happen to all of these PC-sticks once the Atom chip is discontinued by Intel?

  2. One of the reasons I come to Liliputing is to see what else they can shove a PC into!
First we had rooms dedicated to a single computer.
Later we had just one big box for a computer.
    Then the box got smaller.
Then the box got integrated into the monitor.
Then the monitor, keyboard, box transformed into a suitcase.
    Then we had laptops.
    Then we had ultrabooks.
    Then we had tablets.
    Then we had phablets.
    Then we had phones.
    Then we had PC sticks.
Then we had PC in keyboards, in mice, in gamepads, in watches, in glasses, in clothing, in webcams…

What will we see next ?!?
