Toshiba has unveiled its latest 10 inch netbook, and it sports a dual core processor and better speakers than your average netbook. The Toshiba NB520 has a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core processor, 1GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive with a shock-absorbing system, and runs Windows 7 Starter Edition.

What sets the NB520 apart from the crowd are the stereo Haman Kardon speakers tucked into the palm rest area, which should give this netbook better sound than your average 10 inch mini-laptop… although I still wouldn’t expect miracles from any tiny speakers.

One nifty feature is that you can use the speakers even when the netbook is turned off. Just plug in an MP3 player to blast your music to the world. The computer can also supply power to the USB port even when the PC is shut off, allowing you to charge gadgets without powering up the netbook.

The Toshiba NB520 will run $599 in Singapore, which is about $457 US. No word on if or when the computer will make it to the US, or how much it will cost here.
