Toshiba’s Kirabook line of thin and light laptops were some of the first portable Windows notebooks to offer higher-than-1080p screen resolutions. While the Kirabook has plenty of company in that department these days, it’s still a thin and light laptop with a high-resolution display and decent performance — and now Toshiba is upgrading the Kirabook with 4th generation Intel Core “Haswell” processors.

The new models will offer up to 9 hours of battery life, thanks to the energy efficient Haswell chips. That’s not bad for a notebook that weighs just 2.6 pounds.

Toshiba’s new Kirabook should be available in mid-February for $1500 and up.

The laptop features a 13.3 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel display with support for multitouch input. The screen also features Corning Gorilla Glass to reduce damage, and the case of the laptop is made of sturdy and light-weight magnesium alloy.

In addition to being light weight, the new Kirabook is pretty thin, measuring about 0.7 inches.

The notebook features 8GB of RAM, a 256GB solid state drive, and features Harman Kadron stereo speakers.
