Toshiba is showing off a new portable computer that functions as both a Windows 8 tablet and an ultrabook. It’s called the Toshiba Satellite U920t, and it showed up at the FCC earlier this week, and at the IFA trade show in Germany today.

Toshiba U920t

The Satellite U920t features a 12.5 inch, 1366 x 768 touchscreen display. The keyboard hides out under the screen, allowing you to hold the computer like a tablet and navigate the Windows 8 user interface with your fingers.

But you can pull out the keyboard and lock the device into laptop mode to type on a full QWERTY keyboard.

The computer will be available with Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processor options and comes with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB solid state disk. While the computer can be used like an ultrabook, it has some tablet-like features (in addition to the touchscreen), including cameras on the front and back.

So if you want to hold a 12.5 inch tablet up to your face to snap photos, it looks like you can.

Update: Engadget has some hands-on photos.
