Now that it’s possible to cram a full-fledged desktop PC into a stick that fits in a pants pocket, it’s not surprising that some computer makers are experimenting with different sizes and shapes. But it’s still kind of fun to see.
The ECDREAMÂ V6W, for instance, is a tiny desktop that looks more like a clock radio than a PC. It even has a dedicated display on the front for showing the time.
The computer’s available from AliExpress for $199 and ships from China.
For the most part, the hardware’s nothing to write home about: the V6W features an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 Cherry Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD card slot, headset jack, 802.11ac WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0.
It does have a few features that make it look more versatile than some other cheap, low-power Windows computers, though. It has four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and Ethernet jacks, and a 2MP front-facing camera with a microphone for making video calls.
The computer is about 4.7″ high and 3.1″ x 3.1″ wide.
