A small fanless desktop computer powered by a 10-watt Intel Jasper Lake quad-core processor is available from AliExpress for about $155 and up.

The starting price will get you a barebones model with an Intel Celeron N5105 processor and no memory, storage, or operating system. But you can also pay about $40 more for a higher-performance Intel Pentium Silver N6005 chip or pay extra for up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of solid state storage.

If the computer looks familiar, that’s because the chassis seems to be heavily inspired by Zotac’s ZBOX C series of small fanless PCs. Or maybe it’s because we reported last year on a similar mini PC from Newsmay Technology that was only available to bulk purchasers at the time.

But now you can pick up what appears to be a nearly identical system for a pretty affordable price… assuming you’re comfortable ordering a no-name computer from Chinese reseller marketplace AliExpress.

The little PC has two SODIMM slots with support for DDR4-2933 memory, an M.2 2280 slot for a SATA SSD, and a fanless cooling system that seems to consist of a large heat sink and a case with ventilation holes along the top, bottom, and all sides.

Ports include Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort, VGA, and four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, mic and line audio jacks, a microSD card reader, and a DC power input.

The computer has a plastic chassis that measures 123 x 123 x 45mm (4.8″ x 4.8″ x 1.8″) and it can be attached to a display with a VESA mount.

    1. I’m running 32GB in my ASUS PN41 with a N5100. Works with no issues

I would have made it 64GB but didn’t want to push the envelope too far 😉

      1. Whoa, that’s crazy. Intel’s own website for the N5100 says:
** Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) 16 GB **

What’s going on here? Does 32 GB run at a different rate to 16 GB?

          1. Hi,

There is a long standing history of low end Intel chips (and possibly AMD) supporting mire RAM than specified in the Intel Ark.

It could potentially fail with certain RAM kits or after an Intel update, but it is a thing.

    2. Many things are off — in my experience of ebay ads and Chinese sellers, descriptions are generally garbled. If you compare the title, description, and specifications in the linked ad, you’ll see many discrepancies — DDR3 vs DDR4; HDMI 1.4 vs HDMI 2.0; a stray reference to an eMMC. I found what appears to be the same computer being sold by the same seller starting at $141.75, but I checked again now and the price for the barebones model, the “AC8 DDR3 NO RAM NO SSD”, is $138.60. The ad says it has a Celeron N5105 and Intel says that processor supports DDR4 and LPDDR4x SDRAM — is it just another mistake on the part of the seller or does the N5105 work with DDR3? See link below.

  1. Surely a case of this height has room for at least one 2.5 inch HDD?

  2. Brad, I was looking at this and noticed an ad for something very similar. The computer at your link is styled “Mini PC Intel Celeron N6005 N5105 DDR4 RAM 512G 1TB SSD Windows 10 Pro Game Computer 4K 60Hz HDMI VGA MiniPc Portable for Office” from the Justthink Official Store; the link I saw is to a “Gaming Mini PC Intel Celeron N6005 N5105 DDR3 1TB SSD Windows 10 Pro Game Computer Wifi5 BT4 HDMI VGA MiniPc Portable for Office”, also from the Justthink Official Store — it appears to be identical, but the latter starts at $141.75. There’s the usual garble in both ads — you and the descriptions say HDMI 2.0b, but the specifications say HDMI 1.4, e.g. worse, my ad seems confused about whether the computer is equipped with DDR4 or DDR3. What’s up with their “eMMC(64GB/128GB)”? Can you solder some in?
