PC makers have introduced an awful lot of Windows 8 and Windows RT tablets with 10 or 11 inch screens. Or you can pick up a smartphone with Windows Phone 8 if you’re looking for something a little smaller.
But Tegatech’s Hugo Ortega has another product for folks looking for a smaller screen and a full-fledged operating system. The Tegatech DLI7200 handheld device that can dual boot Windows and Google Android.
The handheld computer features a 4.3 inch touchscreen display, an Intel Atom Z670 Oak Trail processor and 2GB of RAM, It supports Winodws XP, Windows 7, or Windows 8 and Google Android.
But the DLI7200 isn’t aimed at the general public. It’s an industrial-strength device with a very rugged case and hardware designed for commercial applications such as an integrated card scanner which you can use to swipe credit cards or other cards with magnetic strips.
The device also features an RFID reader, barcode scanner, and NFC chip.
Ortega plans to offer the device in Australia and New Zealand soon through the Tegatech store.
