Tablified Market is an app that helps Android tablet owners find apps made specifically for larger screens. The Google Play store doesn’t do a very good job of highlighting tablet-specific apps or warning users when an app needs stretching to fit on a 7 or 10 inch display. Tablified Market takes that frustration away.
While I am a fan of the concept behind this app, I quickly uninstalled the first version of Tablified Market because it was ugly, slow, and full of ads. Plus, it didn’t really help me find good apps so much as dump them all in one place and give me a slightly better chance of sifting through them. That all changed with the most recent update.
Now Tablified Market has a slick UI, fewer ads, better sorting and collection. It also handles the hand-off from the app to the Google Play store (where you ultimately download the apps) much smoother than before. And there are special UI tweaks to make it look better on 7-inch tablets like the Nexus 7.
Now Tablified is worthy of staying in my app drawer because it works, not just because it’s a good idea.
Users can purchase an upgrade to the pro version for $1.99. This takes away the ads, provides one-click access to Google Play, plus advanced search and filters. To get started, download Tablified Market from Google Play for free.
Android owners, do you often have trouble finding apps for your tablet?
I do have problems, including this app. Google Play doesn’t recognize my Nook Tablet with CM7 as a ‘real’ tablet and denies access. So much for ‘open’!
