The next laptop from Linux PC company System76 is a thin and light notebook with 10th-gen Intel Core “Comet Lake” processor options, a 14.1 inch, 1080p matte IPS display, and support for up to 40GB of RAM.

But the thing I find most interesting is that the System76 Lemur Pro  weighs just 2.2 pounds, making it the company’s lightest laptop, despite packing a 73 Wh battery that the company says should be good for up to 10 hours of video playback time (or longer for web surfing or coding).

The Lemur Pro should be available in early April for $1099 and up.

  1. This looks like my next laptop : D

I’m pretty sure you can dualboot Windows10 Pro with this. I do wonder if it has a touchscreen and can fold all the way 360′ like the HP X3 or Lenovo Yoga.

Part of me wishes they used a Ryzen Chipset for more performance or better battery life, or both. Especially when it comes to the iGPU, since this device doesn’t have a TB3 Port, and can’t support eGPU options.

PS: Why is the commenting/edit system broken today? Servers down?

      1. I think it was the emoji. I got an error message when I hit post but it had the loading wheel up. So I just copied it, refreshed the page, then posted a new comment without the emoji.

That one went through, not the original one. Coming back to the page now, I’m seeing the original one has popped up now. Maybe it needed a couple minutes? Maybe it’s my phone?

        1. Ahh, thanks for elaborating. I hadn’t noticed any problems, but I’ll keep an eye out. I have done my best to disable some fonts in the comment system add-on in an effort to reduce the amount of css that loads on the site. So that might play a role, but it probably wouldn’t explain why the emoji did show up.
