Sony is showing off a new thin and light laptop that weighs less than 1 kilogram, features an 11.6 inch, full HD touchscreen display, and an Intel Haswell processor.

Like most super-slim ultrabooks, the Sony Vaio Pro 11 has a built-in battery that’s not easy to replace. But this is a “pro” model, which means it has at least one business-friendly feature: support for an extended battery “sheet.”

That means you should be able to buy a wide, flat battery that attaches to the bottom of the notebook, making the whole thing a little thicker, but which also doubles the notebook’s battery life.

Balazs from TechHive spotted a demo model on display at the Computex trade show in Taiwan, and reports the Sony Vaio Pro 11 features an Intel Core i7 Haswell CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB solid state drive.

It has 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, a headset jack, and an SD card reader. The notebook has a metal and plastic case and a backlit keyboard.

There’s no word on when the ultrabook will go on sale or how much it will cost.
