With its comparatively low-capacity batteries and high price tag, Sony’s Vaio P has traditionally been blogged about with disapproving sneers. That’s not stopping the electronics giant, and they’re ready to take another stab at things.

They’re teasing a new model, which will likely be bright orange and its profile will — according to some — look a little like the paperclip in the official mysterious image. I’m not certain that’s a selling feature, but we’ll have to see what this looks like and find out what kind of hardware it’s packing before making any judgments about it.

Personally, I’d love for this new Vaio P to be a truly killer ultraportable. The potential’s been there, I just don’t think Sony has gotten the mix right thus far. Now’s the time, Sony: blow us away!

  1. News of this has leaked on conics.net, where (since last week) they posted a message on all sony vaio p pages that “Update coming soon, currently we can not take orders for this PC.”.
Any idea of what this update will be?

  2. Well, I think they killed it with the Vaio X.
    – Intel Atomâ„¢ Processor Z550 (2GHz)
    – Windows 7 Home Premium
    – 11.1″ LED backlit LCD,
    – 2GB RAM,
    – 64GB SSD,
    – GPS
    – Extended Batteries
    – 1.6 lbs
    – 10.95″(W) x 0.55″(H) x 7.29″(D)

Small and light weight, about all you could ask for them to add is NVIDIA Ion 2.

    1. If it gets released, watch out for Sony crippling it like they did with the playstation 3 by changing firmware on you.

      1. casinohappy this is not about a console..98% of the people who buy PS3 don’t care for ‘other OS’
