SolidRun’s latest development board looks like something you’d use to make an internet router… and I suppose that’s one of the things you could use it for. The ClearFrog Pro is a single-board computer with a Marvell Armada A380/A388 processor, 256MB to 1GB of RAM and an optional SD card for storage.
It also has a dedicated Ethernet port, a 6-port Ethernet switch and support for USB, mSATA storage, mikroBUS-compatible GPIO headers, and optional SD card storage.
SolidRun is now taking orders for the ClearFog Pro for $170 and up. A cheaper model called the ClearFog Base is also coming soon.
The Pro model measures 8.9″ x 4″ while the ClearFog Base is expected to measure about 6.2″ x 4″. It’s smaller because it has just a 2-port Ethernet switch, a single mSATA connector instead of two, and a few other differences.
Both models are designed to support Linux-based software including Yocto and OpenWRT.
SolidRun is positioning the ClearFog products as development boards for use in creating internet-of-things gateways, network-attached storage devices, or other networking, surveillance, or security products.
While the starting price for the ClearFog Pro is $170, note that you’ll need to pay an extra $10 if you want a power adapter. A custom case will set you back another $50.
This is easily five times what it is worth IMO. That said, there,s a Big gaping hole in the low cost dev board space for competitive machines with multiple Real wired ETH interfaces.

ClearFog already comes with DDR memory onboard. So this is not apples to apples comparison
