Toshiba showed off an unnamed tablet at CES this year, which the company says will run Google Android 3.0 when it launches later this year. And I’d be shocked if Samsung wasn’t already planning the sequel to its successful Galaxy Tab Android tablet. So I’m not particularly surprised to see that both companies have posted teasers this week for new tablets.

Update: Actually, as Android Community points out, there are plenty of reasons to think the Samsung video is fake. Doesn’t mean the company isn’t working on a sequel, but the video doesn’t look all that professional. The Toshiba teaser, on the other hand is pretty clearly the real deal.

Details are pretty scarce at the moment, but Samsung has produced a video which at least confirms that there is a Galaxy Tab2 in the works. If the pictures in the video are anything to go by, it appears the new Galaxy Tab will look just like the current model, but it will have at least one major new feature.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Samsung add a dual core processor and support for Android 3.0 Honeycomb, although I’m still hopeful the current model will be eligible for upgrades to Honeycomb. A higher resolution display also wouldn’t shock me, as other device makers have been announcing tablets left and right with high-res 7 and 10 inch screens.

You can check out the alleged Samsung teaser video after the break.

Toshiba, meanwhile, has put together a new teaser web site at ToshibaTablet.com. The site points out the 10 inch display, Android OS, stereo speakers, support for Flash, user replaceable battery, dual cameras, USB and HDMI connectivity, and other features that help distinguish the tablet from the Apple iPad. In fact, that user replaceable battery is one feature I haven’t seen on many other Android tablets either.

Just about the only info that you can’t find on the new Toshiba Tablet site are the name, price, and launch date.
