Samsung may have launched more smartwatches than just about any other company I’m aware of to date. But the company isn’t putting all its wearable eggs into one basket.
The company is launching a new activity tracker called the Charm in Korea, Italy, France, and Russia.
The Samsung Charm is smaller than the company’s smartwatches, offers up to 14 days of battery life from a tiny 17 mAh battery, and comes in three color options: gold, black, and “rose quartz,” which most of us would probably call pink.
The Charm fits into a slim bracelet, and you can pop out the activity tracker and snap it into a different wrist strap if you want to mix and match colors or designs.
It has no screen, but the Charm can use an LED light to provide colored notifications for incoming phone calls, text messages, or other apps running on your phone. It pairs over Bluetooth with the Samsung S Health app running on a phone running Android 4.4 or later, and stores data for later synchronization if your phone isn’t in range.
