Samsung is making some serious headway in its quest for global tablet dominance. Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement that all four major US wireless carriers would offer the Samsung Galaxy Tab Android tablet, Samsung has announced that Bell and Rogers, two of the largest wireless carriers in Canada will follow suit.

Neither company is spilling the beans on pricing yet, but Bell has a landing page where you can sign up for more information, and Rogers has published a blog post says there’s no pricing or availability info, but that the tablet will be available “later this year.”

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a 7 inch tablet with a 1024 x 600 pixel multitouch display, a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird CPU, and front and rear-facing cameras. It will run Google Android 2.2 and come with a 4,000mAh battery.

  2. With the Samsung Hummingbird platform this thing will be able to play pretty much all those 720p and 1080p videos from the … internet. If the the price is okay I’ll be getting this for my mobile video file playing and streaming needs. If not, I’ll get a Galaxy S phone instead (almost upgrade time) and settle for a smaller screen.
