The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is due out in the US in a few weeks. But Samsung has been rather tight-lipped about the US availability of its upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. In Germany, on the other hand, it’s already available for pre-order from Amazon.

That’s the good news. The less good news? It’ll run you more than 600 Euros, which comes to about $845 US.

Of course, you should take that price with a grain of salt. The 10.1 inch model is up for pre-order for 636 Euros, or almost $900 in Germany, but the tablet is expected to sell for just $499 in the US. The 8.9 inch tablet will likely be at least a little bit cheaper.

Consumer electronics tend to cost more in Europe, especially when you factor in the Value Added Tax.
