Samsung may have just launched a new line of Galaxy Tab Pro tablets, but the company is also reportedly preparing its next generation budget tablets. Now it looks like most of the specs for at least two of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 tablets have been revealed.

Samsung will probably release several models with different screen sizes, and various wireless configurations and storage options. But according to some leaked benchmarks, it looks like we can expect to see 8 inch and 10.6 inch models, each with the following specs:
- 1280 x 800 pixel display
- 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core CPU
- Adreno 305 graphics
- 16GB of storage, with 12GB of usable space
- 3MP rear camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera
Each model is expected to ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat software. It’s likely Samsung will also offer a 7 inch model with similar specs.
While the features aren’t all that spectacular, these tablets will likely be significantly cheaper than the Galaxy Tab Pro line of devices which feature faster processors, higher resolution displays, and price tags of $400 and up.
They also look a bit nicer (on paper) than at least some members of the Galaxy Tab 3 lineup, which features tablets with 1024 x 600 pixel displays and dual-core ARM processors for the smaller models or an Intel Clover Trail+ CPU for the 10 inch Galaxy Tab 3.

1280×800 displays in 2014…… And we know the prices won’t be cheap to compensate for that. I expected 1920×1200 displays for at least the 8″ and 10″ versions. (they can keep the 2560×1600 displays for PRO models)
“They also look a bit nicer (on paper) than the Galaxy Tab 3 lineup”
Um, no?
The screen resolution is the same on last year’s models (1280 x 800), and the new 8″ model actually has a lower resolution camera. Also, the SnapDragon CPU may actually be a step down from the Intel Atom chip in the Tab 3 10.1. It’s certainly not an improvement.
Samsung has moved this line down market by at least a couple degrees.
The 7″ tab 2 and tab 3 have 1024*600 displays. A bump to 720p would be nice, but it had better not be selling for $199
We’re talking about the 8″ models here, and that had a higher resolution last year: https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/SM-T3100ZWYXAR
Those are pretty decent specs for low-end devices. It’s nice to see them finally be 720P especially. 1280×800 won’t be too bad at all on the 8inch version. I hope these are super cheap.
