Samsung may have introduced its 3rd-generation Galaxy Tab line of tablets this summer, but the company isn’t done with last year’s Galaxy Tab 2.
SlashGear reports that a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) Student Edition is launching this summer, offering customers a chance to snag a 10 inch tablet, a keyboard dock, and a desktop dock for one relatively low price.
The Galaxy Note 2 (10.1) is a pretty mid-range tablet, with a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, a TI OMAP 4430 ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software. It has a microSD card slot and front and rear cameras.
While the processor and screen resolution are nothing to write home about, the tablet should still perform reasonably well. And the Student Edition bundle throws in a Bluetooth keyboard and a desktop dock for a total price of about $350.
As SlashGear points out, this is also the first time Samsung is selling the 10 inch tablet in white in the United States.
Retailers including Amazon, Best Buy and PC Richards & Son are selling the Student Edition bundle for $350.
It’s a 10.1 Galaxy, but it’s not the Note (which has an S-Pen that might be more useful for students).
Artists, too, since it has pressure sensitivity.
