Samsung was one of the first companies to begin offering laptops with Google’s Chrome Operating System. But for the past few years the company has been offering models that are a bit different from the competition.

While Acer, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, and HP have a number of models with Intel chips, the only models Samsung currently sells feature ARM-based Samsung Exynos processors.

That could change soon. An unannounced Samsung Chromebook 2 with an Intel Celeron N2840 processor has shown up in listings at several online retail websites.

The new Samsung XE500C12-K01US features a dual-core Intel Bay Trail processor which means it should offer a mix of moderate performance and long battery life.

Other features include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and an 11.6 inch HD display, which I assume means it’ll have a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

If PC Connection, Provantage, and other sites are correct, the Chromebook will sell for about $250 when it hits the streets.

Update: CDW is also taking pre-orders for $255.

That’s the same price Asus charges for the Asus C200 and C300 Chromebooks which also have Intel Celeron Bay Trail processors.
