LG is reportedly planning to get back into the Android tablet game. LG may not be as big a name in the US smartphone market as Samsung. But the company is making some of the most interesting Android devices as the moment, including last year’s LG Optimus G and Google Nexus 4 and the upcoming LG G2.

Now LG is reportedly planning to launch an 8.3 inch tablet with a high resolution display.

TechBlog.gr reports the new tablet will be called the LG G Pad, and it’s expected to have a 1920 x 1200 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, and an unspecified quad-core processor.

This wouldn’t be LG’s first Android tablet. Back in 2011 the LG introduced the G-Slate, but it wasn’t a runaway success story for the company.

According to TechBlog.gr, the new model will be powerful but tiny. It’s reportedly small enough to slide into a back pocket (if you have a relatively large back pocket, I imagine).

LG is expected to introduce the G Pad at the IFA trade show in Germany in September.

  1. 8.3″? Slightly larger than the iPad Mini, yet still not quite as big as the 8.9″ tablets. I’ll have to try it out to see if it works.
Just add the G2 features to your skin, LG. Otherwise, I have no qualms about the Note 8, Nexus 7, or Tab 3 8.0

    1. Not unless it cooks you breakfast or gets you laid. Neither are likely but hey, think positive.

Since when is 8.3 inches tiny.

    1. lol, reminds me of the Sony Vaio P (8.9″) ad showing someone stuffing it in their back pocket… then people made fun of it… one even posted a laptop in their pocket (90% of it sticking out) :p
