Google’s worked with hardware partners to launch a new Nexus smartphone every year since 2010. But this may be the first year Google launches two Nexus smartphones.
Rumors that Google is working on two phones have been making the rounds for a while, but now there’s a little bit of evidence to back up the latest rumor. If true, it means that we’ll see a 5.2 inch Nexus phone from LG and a 5.7 inch Nexus phone from Huawei later in 2015.
Android Police reported recently that both of those phones were on the way, with one phone bearing the code-name “Bullhead,” and the other “Angler.”
Google has a habit of using fishy code-names for its Nexus devices. Past models have been called things like “Flounder,” “Hammerhead,” “Shamu,” and “Mantaray.”
Lending a bit of credibility to the Android Police report is a commit in the Android Open Source Project code for an LG device called “Bullhead.”
What’s less clear is if the rumored specs for each phone are accurate. According to Android Police the LG Nexus phone with a 5.2 inch screen will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and a 2700 mAh battery while the 5.7 inch Huawei model will have a Snapdragon 810 processor and a 3500 mAh battery. Those specs might be subject to change, or they could inaccurate: Google, LG, and Huawei haven’t said anything about these phones at all yet.
The report also suggests Google has no plans to launch a new Nexus tablet this year, which means that the 2014 HTC-built Nexus 9 with an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor will be Google’s primary tablet for developers and enthusiasts for another year.

For Christ’s sake, nothing larger than 5.7″?
I’m a tall man (6’4″) with big hands, but I can’t get used to 5″ phones and larger. I’ve had a Nexus 5 for a few months: brilliant phone, but I had to let it go – it is just too big. Am I a freak?
In the end I settled with a 1st gen Moto G LTE, ONLY because of the size (4.5″). It is a little on the slow side and the camera is pathetic, but at least I can use it with one hand.
I agree. 5.2 is probably my upper limit. I want a phone I can put in my pocket
I like the Nexus 5. I’ll keep it as long as possible if the Nexus 5.2 is too expensive. I’d probably trade up to the Nexus 5.2 if it is $300 or less.
i want a new tablet…and not convinced with the N9
please no more 600 dollar plus phones,,,
if they are smart, they’ll go back to the budget prices.
