One of the things I love about running this web site is the conversations we get to have in the comments. But blogs are still a bit one-sided, in that I get to set the agenda. That’s why we also have forums, where you get to decide what you want to talk about.
Here are just a few of the things people have been talking about recently in the Liliputing Forums:
- Google plans Chrome-related OS for netbooks
- NY Times: choosing between netbooks and notebooks
- Samsung N510
- Hippies running supercomputers
- moblin or something else
If you want to join the conversation, there’s no time like the present to sign up.
I also miss the easy navigation and simplicity of the old forum, and the instant notice of replies and unread messages, post counts, and other features. And I too have little use for social networking or chatting, etc…. BUT I am still very grateful that a forum is being provided so we can easily comment on netbook things that get overlooked or churned under on the blog. I really don’t know where else we could find a forum that fits just this niche.
I’m signed up! Look forward to chatting 🙂
That out-sourced forum is just not my style – I am not a “social networking” person.
Maybe someday I’ll set up my own – but I have spent too much time on Netbooks
these past 18 months or so – have to start breaking that addiction somewhere.
The new set up hasn’t worked well for me. I can’t access it from work and the way the new forum is navigated isn’t easy as the old version. I know you had no choice in changing because the old forum was hacked, but that is why I haven’t posted much since the change.
I totally understand. This post wasn’t directed at you so much as it
was aimed at all the folks who might not have noticed the forums at
all. Just wanted to remind everyone that the forums exist and see if I
could drum up a bit of conversation.
Brad, my ego isn’t so big as to think it was directed at me specifically. I hope more people contribute. The more who do, the more everyone gets out of it.
