The maker of the Polar Loop fitness tracker has a next-gen model on the way. It’s called the Polar Loop 2, and it’ll join Polar’s line of sports, health, and activity gadgets.
The Polar Loop 2 showed up in an FCC listing this week.
The new model seems to have the same basic design as the original Polar Loop. But the new version has a bigger battery for longer run time.
The Polar Loop 2 has a 38 mAh battery for up to 8 days of battery life, while the first-gen model has a 26 mAh battery for up to 6 days of use.
Most other features seem to be largely the same: like the original Polar Loop, the new Polar Loop 2 is a wristband with an integrated LED display that can show your activity stats and goals. It tracks steps, estimates calories burned, and syncs with an iPhone or Android device over Bluetooth.
The Polar Loop 2 is water resistant at up to 20 meters, which means you can wear it while swimming or bathing.
So it doesn’t fix the issues i find with old loop (too bright display at night, shines by every contact, needs touch to see time, touch-button provides no tactile feedback if pushed, sync only to polar-website, no offline-mode possible) AND it provides no new features (heart-rate sensor, notifications,…)
i don’t get why i should buy that
You should be more upset that Polar kept the same clasp. 😛
my wife seems to have no problem with that though
while “cut your wristband to fitting length” is still a strange concept
